Villarreal CF and RCD Espanyol have joined forces to promote the adoption of abandoned dogs. The captains of both teams took to the pitch at the Estadio de la Cerámica accompanied by Pinpin and Abril, who are currently at the AUPA (Adopt An Abandoned Dog) shelter in Valencia. An original initiative with the aim of raising awareness of this cruel problem and encouraging their adoption.
Committed to the adoption of abandoned dogs
Thanks to the club’s close collaboration with AUPA, within the framework of the Endavant programme, Villarreal CF promotes and raises awareness of the adoption of abandoned dogs through different activities.
This season, the Submarine have gone a step further and have created the “Canine Art” initiative, in which 19 dogs without families are the protagonists in each of the league matches played by the team at the Estadio de la Cerámica. Artists for a day, the dogs, with the help of coloured paint, have created with their paws the institutional details that the club gives to the rival team before the match.
In addition, at today’s match, on the video scoreboard and in the official Villarreal CF media, the protagonist dog of the match was also presented, which on this occasion was Swatch, telling its story and sharing its qualities, with the aim of helping it to find a new home where it can feel loved and accompanied.
