A brace from Slavy and a goal from Diatta sealed the win for the Mini Submarine in their final game of the season
Villarreal B ended the season on a high note with an emphatic 0-3 victory over Betis Deportivo at the Ciudad Deportiva Luis del Sol. The Yellows, who had already secured their place in Primera Federación for next season, signed off the campaign in style in Seville. Slavy netted twice, including a stunning strike from the halfway line, and Diatta also got on the scoresheet for Miguel Álvarez’s side.
The home side saw more of the ball in the first half, but the Mini Submarine were clinical on the break. In the 18th minute, Slavy produced a moment of magic to open the scoring. The Spanish-Bulgarian forward dispossessed a Betis player near the halfway line, spotted the goalkeeper off his line and sent an audacious long-range effort straight into the net.
Despite trailing, Betis continued to push forward, while the Yellows stood firm defensively and looked dangerous on the counter. Just before the break, Facu Viveros won the ball out wide, drove forward and set up Slavy, who fired just wide.
Villarreal B took full control after the restart. In the 55th minute, Alassane Diatta doubled the lead with a superb header from a pinpoint cross by Arnau Solà on the left.
From that point on, the Yellows dictated the game and allowed Betis little room to respond. In the closing minutes, Slavy wrapped up the win from the penalty spot to make it 0-3. With survival already secured, the Mini Submarine finished the 2024/25 season in the best possible fashion.
