Villarreal Women earned a draw against Atlético de Madrid B in a match where they deserved more
Villarreal Women were left wanting more. The Yellows picked up a point on their visit to Atlético de Madrid B (1-1) in a game where they merited better fortune. In the end, a penalty from Aixa cancelled out the hosts’ opener, although Jordi Ferriols’ side created several chances to take all three points.
Despite the visitors enjoying two opportunities in the first half through Aixa and Lauris, it was Atlético who went ahead five minutes before the break, with Claudia Barrios finding the net.
The Submarine’s response was a thunderous strike from Nerea that, unfortunately for the Yellows, crashed against the crossbar of the home side.
