

Sara Monforte’s side have brought in goalkeeper Elena de Toro for the 2020/21 season
Villarreal Women have confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Elena de Toro for Sara Monforte’s side ahead of the 2020/21 season.
The shotstopper is Villarreal Women’s third signing of the summer, after the arrival of María Cienfuegos (midfielder) and Olivia Oprea (defender) in recent days.
The Yellows are working on building an exciting team for next season, which will see ten players from last season continue: Salma Paralluelo, Lara Mata, Sheila Guijarro, Sara Medina, María Sanjuán, Laura Royo, Cristina Díaz, Bea Prades, Yolanda Palomino and Irene Miguélez.
Elena de Toro, great positioning and reflexes in between the sticks
Elena de Toro Aldaria (31/01/97, Bolaños de Calatrava, Ciudad Real) is a young goalkeeper with great reflexes, positioning and leadership qualities.
Aged 23, she has represented Spain at youth level. She arrives from Fundación Albacete, after having played for them in the Liga Iberdrola for five seasons.
In the next step of her career, de Toro arrives at Villarreal CF to continue growing between the sticks and hopes to have an exciting season under Sara Monforte’s leadership. Welcome Elena!
