    The Yellow Submarine, managed by Víctor Muñoz, claimed an away victory over Real Oviedo during the 2000/01 season

    Villarreal CF return to the Estadio Carlos Tartiere. The Yellows will once again play a top-flight match at Oviedo’s ground 25 years later.

    The last league meeting between the two sides at the Asturian stadium took place on 11th February 2001. That day, Villarreal, led by Víctor Muñoz, secured the win thanks to goals from Martín Palermo, Unai Vergara and Jorge López. For the hosts, Tomic scored from the penalty spot.
