The Valencian coach previews the upcoming clash against CE Sabadell (Sunday, 4pm CEST)
Villarreal B head coach David Albelda spoke to V Play to analyse the Mini Submarine’s next fixture against CE Sabadell, corresponding to matchday 30 of the Primera Federación. The game will be played this Sunday at 4pm CET at the Mini Estadi of the Ciudad Deportiva José Manuel Llaneza.
A positive situation
“We are still in a strong position, but there is a long way to go. Our idea is to maintain the same mentality and approach each game with determination, focusing on progressing step by step and achieving our objectives. At the end of the season, we will assess how far we have been able to go. Of course, we are excited about our current situation because it allows us to approach the final stretch of the season with optimism and, at the same time, ambition. We could have a chance of reaching the promotion play-offs.”
Next opponent: CE Sabadell
“We expect a very difficult match. Sabadell are currently the best team in the group and they have been showing that since the start of the season. It is an ambitious project, strengthened with quality players. In addition, they have a coach who knows the division very well and does an excellent job. The team is very well drilled and offers a lot of tactical variation. I expect a very challenging game, which is normal when facing the current leaders.”
The game plan
“We need to minimise mistakes. It is a team that tries to play well and dominate possession, usually pressing high, but they also know how to sit deep, defend their lead and counterattack if they go ahead. They have many alternatives, so it will be very difficult. We must try to prevent Sabadell from taking the lead.”
