Reflecting on the season, Marcelino praised his team’s exceptional campaign: “We are 20 points ahead of this great team. We are also far ahead of Betis and Celta, and I don’t think that’s a coincidence. We have 58 points at this stage. All of this speaks volumes about these players.”
Finally, the asturian coach stressed the importance of maintaining the fight for third place by sustaining the impressive competitive level the team shows every weekend: “We are in the final stretch. There are only nine matches left and we are third. Atlético have a tough match, and we have managed to win a game that looked very difficult as well.
