Villarreal B suffer narrow loss (1-0) to the Aragonese side 11 matches after their last defeat
Villarreal B’s unbeaten run came to an end after 11 matches as they were narrowly beaten by Teruel (1-0) in a physical, scrappy encounter in which the hosts made the most of their limited goalscoring chances.
It was a fiercely contested and evenly balanced first half, with the Yellows creating the better opportunities. In the 11th minute, Hugo López tested the goalkeeper with a powerful effort from outside the box, but his shot drifted wide.
In the 28th minute, Alassane looked for his chance with a direct free-kick that was parried by the goalkeeper, with Ayman almost reaching the rebound. The best opportunity also fell to Ayman, whose powerful header from Eneko’s cross went just wide.
After the break, the momentum shifted slightly as Teruel came out with greater intensity. The Aragonese side pushed higher up the pitch and began to threaten Villarreal B’s penalty area. After several half-chances, the hosts finally found the breakthrough ten minutes from time, when Teddy finished inside the box after a cut-back from the right byline.
In the end, it finished 1-0, a narrow defeat for Villarreal B who, despite losing at Pinilla, once again showed the solidity they have displayed in recent matches.
Villarreal B’s next match will be on Saturday 14th March against Juventud Torremolinos (4:15pm CET) at the Mini Estadi in Matchday 28 of Primera Federación Group II.
