Villarreal B extended their fine run of form with another impressive away victory over Betis Deportivo
The Yellows once again showed their quality as they claimed a convincing 1-4 win on the road. Braces from Albert García and Ayman, along with a strong collective display, saw David Albelda’s side register their ninth consecutive match unbeaten.
It was an excellent first half from Albelda’s men. Sharp and clear in their ideas, Villarreal B drove forward from midfield at every opportunity. After two clear chances for Eto’o and Albert García, the Catalan took advantage of a poor clearance from the Betis goalkeeper and, following the rebound, made it 0-1 just before the half hour mark.
Three minutes later, Diatta produced a delightful chipped pass from midfield that allowed García to race through on the counter attack once again. One on one with Germán, he calmly finished to make it 0-2. However, the game became more complicated just before the break when Betis Deportivo pulled one back through Reina in the 43rd minute.
At the start of the second half, the hosts made changes, opened up and caused more problems early on for Villarreal B, who nevertheless remained solid. In the 68th minute, Budesca broke down the right flank and delivered a low cross for Ayman, who fired home emphatically to make it 1-3.
Right at the end, Ayman struck again, finishing off a rapid break from deep inside his own half with a superb chipped effort to seal the 1-4 win.
The Yellows will play their next match on Sunday 1st March at 8:30pm CET against Real Murcia at the Mini Estadi, in what will be Matchday 26 of Primera Federación.
