The club has moved to secure the Benicàssim-born player’s future after he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in his right knee
Villarreal C defender Jorge Casañ has suffered a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during a training session with the club’s second reserve side. Following the medical tests that confirmed the injury, the Yellow Submarine have reached an agreement with the young player—whose contract was due to expire at the end of the season—to extend his deal by one additional year.
After undergoing surgery performed by Dr. Pepo García Moreno, Jorge Casañ will begin a recovery process that will keep him sidelined for the remainder of the current campaign. Through this contract renewal, Villarreal CF have sought to guarantee the continued development of a young player who has spent many years progressing through the club’s youth ranks.
The club wishes him a speedy and full recovery and looks forward to his return to the pitch.
