The Villarreal B head coach highlights the strength of their next opponents, Gimnàstic de Tarragona (Friday, 7pm CET)
Villarreal B head coach David Albelda spoke to the media on Thursday to preview the upcoming match against Gimnàstic de Tarragona, corresponding to Matchday 13 of the Primera Federación, which will be played this Friday at the Mini Estadi (7pm CET).
After the narrow defeat in Tarazona, the groguet coach explained that the team has responded well and approaches the game with ambition: “The team is fine. The defeat hurt because we managed to take the lead against a side that hadn’t conceded at home. We had the game under control, but the red card changed everything. It has to help us continue growing.”
Regarding Gimnàstic, he warned that they are one of the strongest sides in the group: “They have a very experienced squad. They’re coming from a play-off campaign, have kept the core of the team and strengthened well. We know how tough this match will be.”
The Valencian coach analysed the key aspects needed to take all three points: “The key is to show our best version. There will be moments when they put us under pressure and take the ball away from us, so we need to put in a very complete performance, both with and without the ball. We must minimise mistakes, because these teams punish every imprecision.”
