The Villarreal Women’s head coach predicts an entertaining match (Saturday, 12.30pm CET)
Villarreal Women’s head coach Jordi Ferriols spoke to V Play this Friday to preview the upcoming match against Deportivo Alavés, which will be played this Saturday at 12.30pm CET at the José Luis Compañón Training Ground.
The Vila-real-born coach warned of the Basque side’s quality: “They’re a very tough team who know exactly what they want to do. They look to dominate possession and defend well. Their biggest strength is in transitions. They have experienced and talented players. I expect a competitive and enjoyable match to watch.”
Despite Deportivo Alavés’ strengths, Ferriols prefers to keep the focus on his own side’s work: “The plan is focused on ourselves – on how we play with and without the ball. That’s what has helped us maintain this positive run.”
Finally, the Villarreal Women’s coach remains optimistic and believes the team are on the right path despite the defeat in their last game: “We’re coming off a loss against Barcelona B. We did more than the result reflected. Now we’ll try to use our strengths and go for the win away from home.”
