The former Villarreal CF footballer will receive the club’s Gold Badge and will have his place on the Passeig Groc
Villarreal CF will pay tribute to Rodrigo Hernández, former player and academy graduate, who will visit the Estadio de la Cerámica this Tuesday on the occasion of the UEFA Champions League match against Manchester City, which kicks off at 9pm CEST.
The Spanish midfielder, who won the prestigious Ballon d’Or in 2024, will receive Villarreal CF’s Gold Badge from club president Fernando Roig in the build-up to the match against the English side.
Ten minutes before kick-off, at 8:50pm CEST, the Yellows fans will have the chance to give a heartfelt and deserving ovation to one of the club’s legends. Supporters will be able to show their affection for the former Villarreal midfielder, a product of the Yellows Academy, who developed and shone at the club before achieving remarkable success with Spain and Manchester City.
Rodrigo Hernández to be part of the Passeig Groc
In addition to the on-pitch tribute, Villarreal CF has also confirmed that Rodrigo Hernández will be added to the Passeig Groc at the Estadio de la Cerámica, the club’s unique walk of fame paying homage to figures who have made history with the Yellow Submarine.
