The Yellow Submarine B took the lead through Alassane Diatta but could not hold on
Villarreal B suffered a defeat against Hércules in a match in which they initially went ahead thanks to Alassane Diatta. The two goals for the Alicante side were both scored by Solde (2-1).
The Yellow Submarine B came into the match with confidence following their recent 4-1 victory over Real Betis Deportivo. They faced a Hércules side in need of points, who began the day second from bottom in the table.
After a cautious start, the Mini Submarino opened the scoring in the 25th minute. Víctor took on his marker, held him, and laid the ball off to the edge of the area for Alassane Diatta to strike a precise left-footed shot (0-1).
The joy for the visitors was short-lived, as Hércules soon equalised. Solde pounced on a loose ball in the area to beat Rubén Gómez (1-1, m.31).
The second half continued at a high pace, with both teams pressing forward. The defences held firm, preventing any change to the scoreline.
Villarreal B had a golden counterattack they failed to convert, and immediately afterwards came the blow of the 2-1 in the 81st minute. Solde struck again to secure the win for Hércules.
Villarreal B will next face Antequera at the Mini Estadi of the Ciudad Deportiva José Manuel Llaneza on Sunday 26th October, 12pm CEST.
