Villarreal Women defeat AEM to claim their fourth straight league win
Villarreal Women earned their fourth consecutive league victory after coming from behind to beat AEM (1-2). The Yellows showed character and resilience to turn the game around, with goals from María Macías and Aixa Salvador sealing another important win.
The first half was evenly matched, with Villarreal showing confidence against an AEM side pushing hard for the three points. In the 23rd minute, Jordi Ferriols’ side came close to taking the lead when Alexia Jr connected with a Luna Figols cross, but her effort went narrowly wide. The game remained balanced, and just when it looked like both teams would go into the break level, Noelia Fernández put the home side ahead with a long-range strike in the 48th minute.
The Yellows came out strongly after the restart, and in the 52nd minute, Macías levelled the score for Villarreal. The visitors kept pressing and took control of the game, and their dominance paid off in the 65th minute when Aixa took advantage of a corner to make it 1-2 to the Submarine.
The goal gave Villarreal confidence, and they came close to extending their lead on several occasions, but the scoreline remained unchanged.
