The Villarreal Femenino coach praises Betis’ talent and foresees a tough match (Sunday, 14.00h)
Villarreal Femenino head coach Jordi Ferriols spoke to the media this Friday to preview his side’s upcoming clash against Real Betis Féminas, which will be played this Sunday at 11.00h at the Ciudad Deportiva Rafael Gordillo.
On the challenge of facing the Andalusian side, Ferriols acknowledged the difficulty of the task:
“It will be tough. I expect a very balanced match. We’re facing a team that has just come down from the top flight, with the structure of a big club. They are a young, talented squad.”
The Vila-real-born coach also emphasized the importance of being brave and staying true to their style: “We have to take it game by game. We want to keep building wins after the one we achieved in the Copa de la Reina. Now we’re looking to beat Betis, staying true to ourselves and showing character.”
Finally, Ferriols reflected on the team’s positive feelings despite the frustrating defeat against Atlético in the opening league fixture: “The result wasn’t fair. We deserved more, but luck wasn’t on our side in front of goal. I think we performed well that day and also in the Cup. Now it’s time to show what kind of team we want to be and go for the victory.”
