Format of the 12th edition of the UYL
The UEFA Youth League features the 36 youth teams of clubs that have qualified for the league phase of the UEFA Champions League, plus a parallel route that includes national champions from UEFA member federations.
From the 36 clubs in the Champions League path, the top 22 will progress to the round of 32. From then on, all knockout ties will be single-leg matches.
In the round of 32, the clubs ranked 1st to 6th (Champions League path) will face those ranked 17th to 22nd, while those placed sveventh to 16th will be paired with the ten teams advancing via the domestic champions path.
From the round of 16 onwards, the draw will be open. The final four—semifinals and final—will be played at the Colovray Sports Centre in Nyon, Switzerland.
