The fans chanted the name of the legend of the Yellow Submarine, who returned to La Cerámica as Real Oviedo captain
Villarreal CF has paid a well-deserved tribute to Santi Cazorla, one of the most beloved and important former players in the club’s history. On his return to the Estadio de la Cerámica as Real Oviedo captain, the iconic No.8 received a commemorative shirt with his name and the number 334, representing the number of matches he played in the Yellow Submarine shirt. This special gift was presented by Marcos Senna, club ambassador and former teammate of Cazorla during his first spell at Villarreal.
Groguet fans had the chance to give a rousing ovation to the legendary former player – something they were unable to do in 2020, when his second spell at Villarreal came to an end during the pandemic, with no supporters in the stands. Now, he returns to La Cerámica as captain and leader of Real Oviedo, who are back in the top flight 24 years after their last appearance.
