Season ticket holders who cannot attend the Trofeo de la Cerámica have the option to take advantage of this service
Villarreal CF have activated the seat release system for the 2025/26 season. Through the Season Ticket Holder Portal, Groguet season ticket holders can now use this service ahead of the match against Aston Villa FC on Sunday 10th August, at 9pm CEST, corresponding to the Trofeo de la Cerámica.
If the released seat is sold, season ticket holders will receive up to 40% of the ticket price, which will be deducted from the cost of renewing their season ticket for the 2026/27 campaign.
As this is a friendly fixture, attendance will not count towards maintaining or achieving Gold VYP season ticket holder status for the 2026/27 season.
As always, Villarreal CF prioritise rewarding attendance over other initiatives, such as releasing a seat. The club was a pioneer in introducing this system, but for league and official competition fixtures, transferring your season ticket does not count as an attended match. Nevertheless, the club offers this option so season ticket holders can still benefit from a discount if they cannot attend a particular game.

Once logged in, season ticket holders can release their seat if they cannot attend an upcoming fixture. Once confirmed, the club will make the seat available for sale through official channels (ticket offices, online sales, and official shops). If the seat is sold, the club will return 40% of the ticket price for that section of the stadium, which will be deducted from the cost of renewing their season ticket for the following season.
Who can use this service?
All season ticket holders except those seated in:
- Casals Grocs
- Casals Blaus
- Super Tribuna
- VIP Box
- Grada Animación
These areas are not eligible for seat release.
Can I cancel a seat release if I change my mind?
Yes — as long as the ticket has not been sold. If the seat has not yet been purchased, the release can be cancelled up to two hours before kick-off. Once the ticket has been sold, the seat can no longer be recovered for that match.
How is the discount applied?
If the released seat is sold, the club will deduct 40% of the ticket price from the cost of renewing the season ticket for the following season.
Maximum discount available
To encourage attendance, Villarreal CF have set the following limits:
- Gold season ticket holders: maximum discount of 50% of the season ticket price for the 2026/27 campaign.
- All other season ticket holders: the season ticket price can be reduced to a minimum of the Gold price for that section + 25%.
Does releasing my seat count as attending?
No. If a season ticket holder releases their seat, it will not be counted as attended. Villarreal CF reward attendance with the best renewal discounts for those who miss no more than three matches in a season, qualifying them for Gold status.
Can I track my seat releases?
Yes. In the private area of the Season Ticket Holder Portal, members can track their seat releases and see how much will be deducted from the price of renewing their season ticket for the 2026/27 campaign.
