The goalkeeper from Vall de Uxó joins Villarreal Women as a free agent after three seasons at RCD Espanyol
Villarreal CF has reached an agreement with Mar Segarra, who will play for the women’s first team during the 2025/26 season. The Castellón-born goalkeeper arrives on a free transfer after spending the last three seasons at RCD Espanyol.

Mar Segarra Casanova (05/07/2001, Vall de Uxó, Castellón) joins Jordi Ferriols’ side to reinforce the goalkeeping department. At just 23 years of age, the local shot-stopper returns to the Region of Valencia after previously playing for the Catalan outfit and making her professional debut in the youth ranks at Levante.
Despite her young age, Segarra brings valuable experience and boasts two promotions on her CV. She achieved promotion to the Reto Iberdrola with Levante UD B in the 2018/19 season and again to the Segunda RFEF with the same side in 2021/22.
