The Villarreal B head coach has stressed the need for points against Hércules CF (Sunday, 7:30pm CEST)
Villarreal B head coach Miguel Álvarez spoke to the media to discuss the upcoming game against Hércules CF, corresponding to Matchday 35 of the 2024/25 Primera RFEF season, which will be played this Sunday at the Mini Estadi of the José Manuel Llaneza Training Ground, with kick-off at 7:30pm CEST.
The team’s current situation
“The truth is that points are always important, but it’s true that these ones are even more important. The players are in good shape, because we are working well. We are doing things to get better results, but what happens on the pitch is what punishes you. Now we are aware that this week we have a very important match”.
A special message for the team
“The players are very intelligent and we know how we are and what is at stake. We have prepared for the game as we always do, we always try to prepare well. The day-to-day doesn’t really punish you, it’s the competition that punishes you. But, I stress, the players are aware, they know what’s at stake and what the match is about. What we do know, both the lads and the coaching staff, is that we are capable of getting out of this situation.”
A message to the fans
“It’s an important game for the club, so we’d like as many people as possible to come.”
El rival: Hércules CF
“They are a team that play at a very high level. They are trying to get closer to the top, although it’s difficult to string results together. Hércules CF have a great squad and, moreover, they have been able to bring people back. They have a lot of potential in terms of wing play and transitions, which are two of the keys to football. They have players on the wings who are very good one-on-one.”
