The Yellows’ striker highlights his growing confidence and looks ahead to the final stretch of the season
Villarreal CF striker Gerard Moreno reflects on his current situation and analyses the current state of affairs at the club ahead of the game against Real Betis.
More confidence
“I’m feeling better and better. Obviously, I’m trying to get up to the pace of my team-mates. For me, being able to add in training and in matches helps me to be better and gives me more confidence, both physically and mentally.”
Analysis of the current situation
“The team is training very well and with a high level of play in the games. I think we had a good game against Real Madrid, although we didn’t manage to win, and we played well against Getafe. Against Athletic it was a shame, because the team had a very good first half. It’s also true that we have one more game than the rest and we have to take advantage of the fact that we have more games at home than away, which is a very important part of achieving our objective, because the stronger you are at home, the better.”
Next opponent: Real Betis
“Obviously the next games will be difficult, because everyone has a lot at stake, but we face them with the peace of mind that the team is doing things right. Now the first hurdle is against Betis, who in the end are playing for the same thing as us. I think both teams have great squads. It will be an attractive match, and with the incentive of the Champions League, it will make the game much more attractive. Personally I’m very focused on what we can do and, if we’re good, the more chances we’ll have.”
