Villarreal CF, pioneers with inclusive football
Villarreal CF was one of the founding clubs of LALIGA Genuine, being also its first host, hosting the inaugural phase of the first edition of this tournament at the José Manuel Llaneza Training Ground in October 2017. The Yellows’ facilities also played host to the final in the 2022/2023 season.
The competition is played in 8-a-side football and the matches consist of four ten-minute halves. The scoring system is completely different from the first division, as the points are awarded on the basis of the number of goals won, unlike in the EA Sports LALIGA, where the goals determine who wins the match. In addition, the fair play of the goals is also taken into account.
