Villarreal B beat CD Alcoyano comfortably and end a run of draws and losses
The Mini Submarine returned to winning ways against CD Alcoyano (3-0). Miguel Álvarez’s side overcame the side from Alicante thanks to an excellent first half, in which the Yellows were far superior to the visitors. Goals from Slavy, Etta Eyong, from the penalty spot, and Facu Viveros, in the second half, earned the three points for the B team, who achieved their first victory of 2025.
Villarreal B took the lead before the first quarter of an hour with a goal from Slavy. He pounced on a loose ball in the box to put the visitors ahead, after they had started better than their opponents.
On the half-hour mark, Arnau Solà was brought down in the box. The referee awarded a penalty and Etta Eyong made no mistake from the spot. The Cameroonian made it 2-0 at the Mini Estadi.
The Yellows went into the break with a two-goal lead and the feeling that they had been noticeably superior to their opponents during the first 45 minutes.
In the second half, the game cooled down a little. The visitors could not find a way to hurt the Yellows, who also slowed down the pace they had set in the first 45 minutes.
Miguel Álvarez’s side made it 3-0 thanks to Facu Viveros’s stunning strike in the closing stages. With this goal, the Yellows put the game to bed and took all three points.
