Miguel Álvarez has warned about the defensive solidity of Villarreal B’s next opponents (Saturday, 5:30pm)
Villarreal B head coach Miguel Álvarez spoke to the media on Friday to analyse the defensive solidity of Yeclano Deportivo, the Mini Submarine’s next opponents (Saturday, 5.30pm).
“We are playing well, but we know that we have a lot of work to do. We still need to improve a lot of details and avoid certain mistakes to be a team that can compete for high goals. If we can do that, we’ll be a very difficult team to beat,” explained Miguel Álvarez about his team, who return to the Mini Estadi this weekend after picking up a point against CF Intercity (2-2).
The coach from Jaen falso ocused on the improvement process of his players: “We are growing. We have improved in defence and also in our set pieces. Despite this, we are losing some points in small details. Some of them are easy to solve, but we need time to do it.”
As for their next opponents, Miguel Álvarez praised their defensive ability, while also admitting that they have been unlucky with injuries: “Yeclano Deportivo are a team who, despite the numerous injuries they have suffered, are competing with dignity and good results. They have won a lot away from home. They have 12 points away from home and have only conceded 13 goals. They are the lowest-scoring team in the category. To score against them, we’re going to have to work hard.”
Finally, the Villarreal B head coach was very satisfied with the contribution of his players to the first team during this first part of the season: “We are very happy with their work. Pau Cabanes and Pau Navarro are making good use of their experience. They are lucky that Marcelino trusts them and is able to put them in. He is giving them a lot of confidence and he really believes in them. We are very happy with Marcelino for all of that. Our main objective, at the end of the day, is to help the first team.”
