Setién’s team will celebrate their 100th anniversary wearing the commemorative shirt for the club’s centenary
Villarreal CF will play with the centenary shirt against Real Betis. The yellow team will wear the commemorative jersey for the #CentenariGroguet for the league match, which will be played on Sunday 12th March at 6:30pm CET at the Estadio de la Cerámica.
The centenary shirt
Villarreal CF has designed an official centenary shirt to commemorate 100 years of the Yellow Submarine. The shirt, produced in collaboration with Joma, is inspired by the one worn by Villarreal CF in their first promotion to the top flight and maintains the yellow colour as the club’s hallmark, accompanied by contrasting blue details on the sleeves.
In addition, the back of the neck features a print of a submarine with the club crest and the 100th anniversary inscription. The inside of the collar features another print in the same tone with the evolution of the club’s different crests to date. Finally, the Villarreal CF crest is embroidered on the front of the shirt for an extra touch of elegance.
The jersey was unveiled on 19th December 2022 at the centenary launch event with a stellar performance by freestyler @Javifreestyle. Afterwards, players Manu Trigueros and Irene Miguélez joined in wearing the centenary shirt for the first time.
