Students of the UJI Hyperbaric and Underwater Medicine specialisation visit the Ciudad Deportiva to learn about the club’s hyperbaric chamber

Students specialising in Hyperbaric and Underwater Medicine at the UJI have visited Villarreal CF’s Ciudad Deportiva to get to know the club’s hyperbaric chamber, dedicated to the treatment of footballers.

Thanks to this initiative, framed within the Endavant Formació programme and the existing agreement with the Universitat Jaume I, the students of the Castellón centre have received a course-workshop in the club’s medical facilities, taught by members of the Villarreal CF Medical Services.

Villarreal CF, at the forefront of hyperbaric medicine in Spain

This season, Villarreal CF has acquired a hyperbaric chamber to improve sporting performance, reduce fatigue and injury time for its players, making it a pioneering club in Spain to have this treatment.

It should be noted that the club has maintained for years a close relationship with Dr. Manuel Salvador, Head of the Hyperbaric Therapy Unit of the General University Hospital of Castellón and a national reference in the field of hyperbaric medicine.
