Dani Raba underlined his commitment to the club and his aim of working hard to be with the Yellow Submarine for many more years
Dani Raba appeared in front of the media today, where he underlined his satisfaction at enjoying minutes on the pitch: “After last year, I think that based on hard work and my commitment to the group, Unai has rewarded me with small opportunities. I have to continue working and showing that I have what it takes to play here. The group we’ve got here helps a lot. I’m very grateful to Unai.” He also added: “By working hard and showing each day that I want to be here at Villarreal, things work out. You can’t achieve it without the help of your team-mates and the coaching staff, who give you the opportunity to show on the pitch that your hard work during the week pays off. The group is very good. The club has made a lot of effort to improve the squad and the coaching staff have brought a lot of good things. Everyone is really involved.”
Raba underlined the team’s excitement of taking part in the Champions league this year: “The competition is high in the team, because there is a lot of quality in every position. We have the Champions League; LaLiga, which is our main focus; and the Copa del Rey. That demands a lot and because of that, we have top-level players.” It will be this afternoon when the group stage for the European tournament takes places. “We are looking forward to knowing who we’ll get, but we’re focused on the match against Atlético,” underlined Raba.
Regarding the side from the Spanish capital, who the Yellows will face in the league this Sunday (10pm CEST), the player underlined that it will be a tough match: “It is going to be a very complicated game, a hard-fought one. We are going to work hard these days, we’re hungry and we have a winning mentality. We want to win now, it’s a good moment to show what we want to do this year.” Despite that, “we’re going to go game by game.”
Today it was announced that Gerard Moreno and Raúl Albiol have been called up by Spain and Raba spoke about their achievements: “I’m very happy for the pair of them. We congratulated them in the dressing room. Both of them deserve it. The team is fully behind them and happy for their call-up.”
Raba ended by speaking about the support of the fans: “The fans are with us. We saw that against Granada. They are always there and they will always be there. They’re very excited about the Champions League.”
