Manu Trigueros underlined that the team will need to show personality and be competitive to make history in London

Villarreal midfielder Manu Trigueros appeared in front of the media in a remote press conference, alongside head coach Unai Emery, to analyse the build-up to the historical game against Arsenal FC (Thursday, 9pm CEST).

Show personality and competitive spirit

“Scoring away from home is important, and from there, being ourselves, having personality and being competitive throughout the match. We need to focus. We’re a solid team, a team that is brave under pressure. We have great players, and we’re used to demanding games.”

Arsenal, a big opponent

“They’re a team with top-level players, and a lot of pace up front. We know how they play, we already saw that at our stadium. They’re a great team, one of the strongest in the Premier League. We need to be at 100% to have the chance to do something great.”

The excitement of the fans

“We’re a family. We’re all very excited, because it’s a unique momento for the club, the players and for the fans. It will be a very exciting day for Villarreal CF.”

A more experienced Villarreal

“We have a more experienced team than on previous occasions when we’ve been in the same situation. We’re going there full of excitement and full of hunger. We will give our all to try and reach the final.”
