Villarreal B head coach Miguel Álvarez expects a great game against Valencia Mestalla
Derbies are always special. Even more when the three points are important. Villarreal B head coach Miguel Álvarez expects a great game this Sunday against Valencia Mestalla (12pm CET): “We’re expecting a tight game, as these derbies are always balanced games. It’s a game between two young teams with good players. Both teams have similar playing styles and quality players, so they’re always matches where anything could happen.”
For Álvarez, Mestalla deserve to have more points than they currently have: “They’re changed from the first half of the season, they’re a talented team but they’ve been penalised by errors. This is a very quick competition, and errors can really affect you. That doesn’t stop them from being a good team with a lot of quality.”
Regarding the future, the manager is clear on the path to follow: “We’re happy, but we’re lacking continuity and we hope to have that now. We’ve got a lot of players out, but we’re still thinking of going into game as we always do. This is a demanding league, so we need to be at our best every game, and show maturity to have control of the game. This is a different league, a short league, and we’re now in the final stages.”
