Villarreal beat Levante UD thanks to two great goals from Cazorla and Bacca
The Yellow Submarine is starting to warm up. Villarreal made it two wins out of two in their second friendly of pre-season. Javi Calleja’s side beat Levante 1-2 in hard-fought, tight game, with both sides having an eye on LaLiga Matchday 2, which sees them face each other at the Ciutat de València (Friday, 23rd August at 10pm CEST).
The Yellows’ goals came from Santi Cazorla and Carlos Bacca, while the Levante goal was scored by Enis Bardhi. Villarreal opened the scoring in the 26th minute. After a notable start to the match, the Asturian midfielder put the Yellows ahead with a dangerous placed shot from the edge of the box, after an excellent dummy that saw him get away from his marker.
In the second half, in the 64th minute, Bacca scored the second match of the game. The striker made the most of a great assist from Gerard Moreno to beat Oier one-on-one with a placed effort. During the closing moments, Levante pulled one back through Bardhi (87′), with a long-range effort.
By beating Levante, the Yellows have ended the second week of pre-season on a high.
