Santi Cazorla has underlined the importance to have put together four wins in a row
Villarreal midfielder Santi Cazorla appeared this lunchtime in front of the media to analyse the Yellow Submarine’s current situation. The star from Asturias highlighted the change in mentality that has happened after the recent wins put together by the Yellows: “We’ve experienced every sort of situation this season. We deserved more in a lot of games and now it seems like we’ve managed to turn that situation around. Against Levante, we won in the last minute. That, added to what we’re doing well in Europe, has helped us a lot. Now we are more confident and we have a different mentality. At the end of the day, what we needed was to put together various wins which strengthen our work.”
The Yellows No.19 recognised that the squad is conscious of the importance of the next league match, after the international break, against Celta Vigo: “The win against Rayo was very important and a big step in our fight against relegation. There is still a lot of work ahead of us. Now we’ve got time to rest to and to prepare for the match against Celta, which will be a crucial game. They’re a direct rival and winning at Balaídos would open up a real gap from the relegation zone. We are working well and we are optimistic with regards to what is ahead of us.”
Finally, Cazorla shared his personal feelings, after returning to the top level after recovering from a serious lesson which kept him off the pitch for nearly two years: “I’m feeling really good. I am in a good place and I think I can get better. There’s still margin for improvement. I’m having a lot of fun, despite the difficult season we’re having. I’m happy to be able to help the team.”
