Jaume Costa underlines the need to convert chances to turn around the dynamic
One of the Villarreal captains, Jaume Costa, appeared in front of the Villarreal CF TV microphones to analyse the draw against RCD Espanyol in the first leg of the Copa del Rey Round of 16. “We finished the match very well. We have to start to show only the competitive level that we showed in the second half. Espanyol were on top during the first half. They scored a goal against us which set set the tone for the play. After the initial strike, we had chances to get level and even to get in front,” he explained.
The Yellows No.11 also underlined his frustration that Villarreal are currently needing a lot of chances to score: “We’re not keeping our cool at the business end of the pitch. We need a lot of chances to score. Half-time gave us a moment to think. We spoke and we were sure that we could turn the match around. A positive thing at the moment is that the team can grow in front of adversity. Against Huesca, Real Madrid and Espanyol, we showed our capabilities in reacting.”
