The Yellows Reserves beat Badalona thanks to a goal from Mario González in the second half
Villarreal B put together their third win in a row, beating Badalona and starting 2019 in the best way possible in the last match of the first round of fixtures. The Yellows Reserves finished the day top of the table awaiting this Sunday’s match between Lleida Esportiu and l’Ontinyent. The only goal of the clash came from Mario González, giving Miguel Álvarez’s side a deserved victory.
The Mini Submarine had a number of chances to go ahead, but had to wait until the 65th minute to get the opener. González received an inch-perfect pass from Rubén Mesa, before firing between the Badalona goalkeeper’s legs and into the back of the net with his left foot.
The Catalan side only had one real chance in the whole match. It came in the 80th minute, with a long-range effort from Naná that was kept out by Diego Fuoli at full stretch.
