Villarreal CF will face the French side on Saturday 21st July (7pm) in Avignon
Villarreal CF has confirmed a new pre-season friendly. The Yellows will face Olympique de Marseille on Saturday 21st July at 7pm CET, at the Parc des Sports de Avignon (France). Olympique de Marseille is one of the most successful clubs in French football. A finalist in last season’s UEFA Europa League and fourth in Ligue 1, they will be a rival for Villarreal CF in next season’s round of the European competition.
With seven friendlies already confirmed, only one is yet to be announced to complete Villarreal CF’s 2018/19 preseason friendly match schedule.
The dates for Villarreal’s preseason are (time in Spain):
- Monday 9th July: First training session at the Villarreal CF Training Ground (Ciudad Deportiva).
- Tuesday 17th July: Villarreal CF vs Hércules CF (Mini Estadi, 7pm).
- Saturday 21st July: Olympique de Marseille vs Villarreal CF (Parc des Sports, 7pm).
- Sunday 22nd to Friday 27th July: Preseason training camp at the Torremirona Relais Hotel Golf & Spa in Navata.
- Wednesday 25th July: Montpellier Hérault Sport Club vs Villarreal CF (Stade Saint-Michel, 7:30pm).
- Saturday 28th July: Sheffield Wednesday FC vs Villarreal CF (Hillsborough Stadium, 4pm).
- Wednesday 1st August: Opponent and time TBC.
- Saturday 4th August: Wolverhampton Wanderers FC vs Villarreal CF (Molineux Stadium, 3pm).
- Wednesday 8th August: Villarreal CF vs Real Zaragoza (Mini Estadi, time TBC).
- Saturday 11th August: SV Werder Bremen vs Villarreal CF (Weserstadion, 2:30pm).
