For the fourth consecutive season fans can enjoy the best level of youth football nationwide
The XXVI Pamesa LaLiga Promises National Tournament will be played in Vila-real for the fourth consecutive year. The competition will feature 20 of the nation’s best U12 teams that have played 7-a-side football in the 2017/18 season.
The ‘JRM Foundation’ and the ‘Liga de Fútbol Profesional’ (LaLiga) have organsied the prestigious LaLiga Promises tournament again this year, the final phase being televised exclusively by the ‘laSexta’ channel.
For the fourth consecutive year, the Yellow Submarine will host the LaLiga Promises, that will be played from 1st to 3rd June at the ‘Ciutat Esportiva PAMESA Cerámica’ training ground.
LaLiga Promises is one of the biggest youth sports events nationwide. Since 1992, this important youth football tournament brings together the best U12 teams from the First Division. A must-see competition for lovers of grassroots football.
Drawn into Group D along with Espanyol, Girona, Leganés and Málaga this year, Villarreal CF U12 will fight to win the competition for the third time. An achievement that only FC Barcelona can boast, having won eight titles.
The Yellow Submarine won the tournament for the first time back in 2007 after storming to glory against Real Sociedad (4-1). Nine seasons later, in 2016, the Yellow U12 lifted the cup again, after beating Atlético de Madrid in the final (3-1).
Since the Yellows started to host the competition, LaLiga promises has not always been held at the Ciudad Deportiva PAMESA Cerámica. As hosts for the first time, in 2015, the tournament took pace in the ‘Ciudad Deportiva de Miralcamp’ (Villarreal’s main training ground). Then, as the tournament moved to the club’s second facility in 2016, the Villarreal U12 won it, followed by falling just short of defending their title last year to FC Barcelona in the final (3-1).
