The Villarreal Manager was unhappy with the referee’s performance vs Eibar and wants to “turn the page”
In the postmatch press conference, Villarreal Manager, Fran Escribá, was unhappy with the referee’s controversial calls, which he said distracted the Yellow Submarine at important moments of the match: “We lost concentration for a few key minutes. The anger and indignation distracted us for several minutes and that was key. These things happen, they’re a part of football”. What’s more, the Villarreal boss recognized that the referee’s performance had the say on the outcome of the match that was decided by “small details”.
On the other hand, Escribá stated that the team must turn the page and think about the next match against Real Betis. “We must focus on the upcoming matches. It will be a really demanding run of games. We hardly have a break between matches”, Escribá commented, assuring that his team has “ambition” and “will fight until the end”.
