The Villarreal Manager wants to turn the page as soon as possible after losing to Monaco
Villarreal Manager, Fran Escribá stated that getting knocked out of the UEFA Champions League Play-offs by Monaco tonight should not murmur the team’s morale ahead of the LaLiga campaign and Europa League football. According to the Manager, the Submarine gave everything in spite of falling 1-0: “It wasn’t meant to be, the team did all they could. We had a few chances to go ahead, but going forward was more difficult in the second half. We can’t blame ourselves and we have to look at the positives”.
The break in the league will be good for the injured players to recover. “With all the players we have out this didn’t come at a good time for us. Now we have five days to rest and maybe we’ll have Cheryshev for the next match”.
Lastly, Fran Escribá praised Leo Suárez, who made his debut with the First Team tonight: “Leo is a quality player. We hope that he’ll keep contributing”.
