Both teams continue to do joint activities as part of the ‘Endavant Igualtat’ initiative
The Villarreal U16s A team and CD Asorcas (sports club for deaf people) continue to meet up and do activities together as part of the ‘Endavant Igualtat’ initiative, in which each of the 11-a-side Villarreal CF Reserve and Academy teams sponsor a special centre in the Castellón province throughout the course of the season.
On this occasion, the young players from the U16s and the CD Asorcas visited the City Council facilities. Firstly they enjoyed visiting murals that depict history and then seeing the most characteristic places in the Castellón province. Later on, they visited the meeting room and all in all had another unforgettable day together.
The U16s A team and CD Asorcas have been collaborating since the start of the season. The Castellón Deaf Association (La Asociación de Sordos de Castellón) was founded in 1975 and represents and defends the rights of deaf people, those with hearing disabilities and deafblind people, and their families in all social fields that they can progress in. It is an adapted sports club that succeeds at a national level and participates in seven different disciplines, from tennis to darts.
The Yellows Academy footballers have learned sign language throughout the informative talks and via different games. The members of CD Asorcas have also visited the Ciudad Deportiva (Villarreal CF Training Ground) on different occasions and played, alongside the U16s, in adapted football matches in which the footballers played with ear plugs to understand the sensation of playing with a reduced hearing capacity.
