The Submarine are nominated for six of the ‘season’s bests’ categories
Vote for the Submarine! Facebook, the biggest social network in the world with more than 1,700 million active users, have nominated Villarreal CF for no less than six categories within the Facebook Football Awards, the awards given to the ‘season’s bests’ in every country. The Yellows will be up against the other nominated players and clubs from the First Division.
Villarreal CF have been nominated for the following awards:
- GOALKEEPER OF THE YEAR: Areola
- DEFENDER OF THE YEAR: Mario
- MIDFIELDER OF THE YEAR: Denis Suárez
- MOST IMPROVED PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Bakambu
- MANAGER OF THE YEAR: Marcelino
- FANS OF THE YEAR: Villarreal CF fans
The Facebook Football Awards are the only awards that allow fans from all over the world to decide which players, managers and clubs have been the best throughout the season. Since last Friday 17th April fans have been able to vote via the app at the following link bit.do/fbfootballes and choose who should win in each of the 9 categories. The project is in collaboration with ‘Marca’ and the nominees were selected by an expert panel of judges at Marca, but the final winners will depend exclusively on the fans’ votes.
