Denis Suárez has acknowledged that he is very happy to be back at Villarreal CF after having already experienced a great season here
Denis Suárez was presented this Tuesday as a new Villarreal CF player at the José Manuel Llaneza Training Ground. The Galician midfielder appeared before the media, accompanied by Fernando Roig Negueroles, the club’s CEO.
The talented midfielder began his appearance by thanking Villarreal CF for their commitment to him: “Thanks to the club and the board. The year I was here was a very happy one. It was easy to reach an agreement with the club to come here. I also hope to be very happy in this second stage. At this club they always looked after me and I’m very happy to be able to come back.”
Afterwards, Denis Suárez assessed his evolution as a player since his previous spell as a Yellows: “When I played here, I was a wide player. Maybe now I’m more of a midfielder. I had a very good season and I went to FC Barcelona. I’m very excited and eager to do things well, to give my best and for the team to go as far as possible in all competitions.”
At the presentation, the new Yellows player was visibly happy about his return to the club: “I’m coming to the ideal club, to the team where I wanted to be. Fernando knows that. I can’t wait to get started”.
As for his aspirations as a Villarreal player, Denis Suárez admitted that he would like to win a title as a player of the club: “It would be a dream to win Villarreal’s second title. It’s a team that has already tasted victory in a competition and that is capable of competing for these heights. At the time, I saw the final and I celebrated the Europa League title as a Yellow. The year I was there, we were just one step away from the final. It was a shame, but I was very happy two years ago. The club does things well and has a very respected and recognisable trajectory in Europe.”
Roig Negueroles: “He never should have left”
Villarreal’s CEO, Fernando Roig Negueroles, accompanied Denis Suárez at his presentation as a new Yellow player. Hepresident welcomed him to the club and highlighted the great role he played during his first spell as a member of the club: “He is a well-known player in Spanish football. He was here in a previous stage and had a great year. He should never have left, because he would have had a great career here. After playing for several teams he has come back. He is a versatile player with a lot of quality. He can play in many positions and he will help the club grow.”
