The Mini Submarine lose to Real Oviedo despite a good performance

Villarreal B went down to Real Oviedo (2-1) at the Estadio Carlos Tartiere despite playing well in many parts of the game and recovering from an early goal. Once again, Miguel Álvarez’s side deserved more, but failed to get the points in a game that was decided by Alemao’s two goals for the Asturians. Ontiveros’ goal from 12 yards was to no avail.

The game turned against them very quickly when the home team scored the first chance they had after just five minutes. Santi Cazorla slipped a pass through to Alemao and the striker struck a first-time shot past Iker Álvarez, who managed to get a touch on the ball with his left glove.

Miguel Álvarez’s men never lost sight of the game and, after several chances from Forés and Tiago, Ontiveros equalised with a brilliant penalty, deceiving Leo Román. However, Real Oviedo got their second on the stroke of half-time, also through Alemao. The Yellows had to continue rowing against the tide in the second half.

After the restart, the Mini Submarine struggled in the first few minutes of the game, with Requena on the pitch, who had come on to replace Rodrigo, who had been shown a yellow card. The team pulled themselves together and started to have the ball again. Both Taseende and Ontiveros on the left, as well as Alti and Novoa (first) and Collado (later), were electric. However, the Yellows’ impetus was not enough and the B team lost again in LALIGA Hypermotion without deserving so much punishment.

The Mini Submarine’s next match will take place next Sunday at 4:15pm CEST at the Estadio de la Cerámica against Burgos CF.
