Sara Monforte has analysed the upcoming match against FC Barcelona (Sunday, 12pm CET)
Villarreal Women head coach, Sara Monforte, appeared before the media at the press conference prior to the match against FC Barcelona, corresponding to Gameweek 20 of the 2022/23 Finetwork Liga F season. The match will take place on Sunday 5th March, at 12pm CET, at the Johan Cryuff stadium. These are the comments made by the Monforte:
A difficult opponent
“At no time do you want a defeatist team or coaching staff. We know that scoring or winning is almost impossible, but at some point someone has to win. We have to be prepared to make it as difficult as possible for them and be ready in case they have a bad day. It can also help us to get into a rhythm that will help us for the next few league games in which we’ll be playing for everything.”
Planning for the match
“Barcelona are the best team in Europe. We expect a game in which Barça will have the ball and we will have to defend very well. We’ll also try to pass so that we can create some danger for them.”
A key month ahead
“Now is the time to give everything. The goal of survival will come in March, when we have games against direct opponents. The team is in very good shape, they will give their all and I’m sure they will achieve survival”.
