Marcelino said his team only lacked a goal in a match they deserved to win
Villarreal CF head coach Marcelino García Toral has appeared before the media at a press conference after the 0-0 draw against Cádiz CF.

Match analysis
“In the first half we should have had more pace and more of the ball in the box. In the second half we got a little bit too hasty as the minutes went by. Even so, there was only one team that deserved to win. The team deserved to win, but we weren’t accurate and we lacked more aggression in their area. Not finding the goal deprived us of a victory we deserved.”
The team tried until the end
“The victory escaped us, but we didn’t let it happen. You let it happen when you show on the pitch that you don’t want to win, but we showed the opposite from the first minute. Our shortfall was not finding a goal, which would have put us in a much more favourable situation.”
Focus on Alavés
“We have to think about the next game and analyse what we can improve. We’ve got a tough pitch and a tough opponent ahead of us, but we have to go out and win. Against Mallorca and Cádiz we deserved more than what we got and we must continue to grow to transform those expectations into victories.”
