The inauguration took place in the conference hall at the Cardenal Herrera-CEU University in Castellón
The ‘CEU-Manu Trigueros’ Fan Club joins the Yellow family. The inauguration event was celebrated this afternoon in the conference hall at the Universidad CEU-Cardenal Herrera in Castellón and counted on the presence of the player himself, Manu Trigueros, the Director of the Universidad CEU-Cardenal Herrera and President of the Fan Club, José María Mira de Orduña, and the President of the Villarreal CF Fan Club Association, José Luis Alcón.
Those present gave the footballer a warm reception on what was an unforgettable day for Trigueros. José María Mira de Orduña was presented with a shirt signed by the Submarine First Team squad and a certificate making them an official Villarreal CF Fan Club from the hands of Trigueros.
For his part, Manu Trigueros wanted to give out two of his official shirts that were raffled among the youngest fans that attended the presentation event. It should be noted that the centre midfielder from Talavera is studying for his Teaching Degree at the Universidad CEU-Cardenal Herrera in Castellón.
“This Fan Club has been established because Manu deserves it, he is a great footballer and a magnificent person, humble and hardworking, who makes an effort to combine his university degree with playing football at the highest level and with the highest demand, with fantastic results. He deserves it, what’s more, because he has demonstrated, every time that we’ve asked it of him, his commitment to the CEU in so many charitable causes”, Mira de Orduña stated about the midfielder.
“For this reason, from the University we wanted to recognise his work as a footballer and encourage the importance of intellectual formation and values to those in the Villarreal Academy teams. We want there to be more Manu Trigueros’ among our youths”, Mira de Orduña assured.
For his part, Manu Trigueros was very excited about the new Fan Club and really valued his name being associated with “such a prestigious university, where I have been really happy studying over these years”.
CEU-Manu Trigueros Awards
The new Fan Club wants to motivate the Villarreal and Roda Academy players with the CEU-Manu Trigueros awards. For the stand out players, for the best grades, for fair play and for “the team or players that carry out the best charitable act of the season”, Mira de Orduña continued. “In summary, we want to pay attention to the Academy players to highlight and recognise their achievements”.
Aula Universitaria Endavant
The creation of this Fan Club adds to the collaboration agreement between Villarreal CF y la Universidad CEU Cardenal Herrera through the “Aula Universitaria Endavant” programme, whose objective is to promote the investigation and training in diverse fields such as health, education and communication, as well as promoting the culture of effort, a value that, together with charity, integration, team work and innovation, both entities share. Aula Endavant is an ambitious and pioneering project that intemds to integrate the reality of a First Division club in the training, practice and scientific programmes at the University.
