In the end, Villarreal secured their place in the quarter-finals from the penalty spot, thanks to goals from ‘Grego’, Héctor and Miguel (3-1).
The Yellows’ Academy side will face RCD Espanyol, who beat Athletic Club in the last 16, this evening (7pm CEST) for a place in the semi-finals. The rest of the quarter-final matches are: Valencia-Atlético, Granada-Betis and Sevilla-Barça.
