The Basque manager was pleased with the team’s performance, but he recognised that the team still has a margin for improvement
Villarreal head coach Unai Emery appeared in front of the media in a remote press conference to analyse the point earned against Real Sociedad at the Reale Arena (1-1). The Basque manager underlined his team’s competitive capacity: “We competed well. The draw was fair. In the first half, they were better and in the second half, we turned things around. By pushing a bit more, we could have gone away with the win.”
Emery analysed with a draw against the team from San Sebastián: “I’m satisfied. It’s a good point against the league leaders at their stadium. We value it positively, but in terms of our ambition, we feel like we could have got more.”
Finally, he underlined that, despite the good performance, Villarreal are still not at their best: “We have a margin for improvement. I like us being competitive, but we could be better and we are going to work on that.”
