Villarreal CF and the CEU Cardenal Herrera University have renewed their collaboration agreement which has existed since 2015, through Aula Universitaria Endavant, with the signing of a new agreement that strengthens the alliance between both parties, who are united through their interest in training, research, development, innovation and values in the sporting world.
The new agreement, signed by José Manuel Llaneza, Villarreal CF vice-president; and vice-rector for University Strategic Development, José Manuel Amiguet, covers the numerous areas being developed between the two institutions, including working together on the new Physical Activity and Sports Science degree, which the CEU UCH will launch in September.
The agreement also includes the creation of the Villarreal CF and University CEU Cardenal Herrera University Sports Campus; a training space for students of the new degree at the club’s facilities. The Submarine will also be technical assessor of this new university degree through the proposal of professors for sessions and seminars, the incorporation of other sports entities for the realisation of national and international external practices, the involvement of sports entities associated with Endavant Esports, the participation of athletes in conferences or the integration of members of the coaching staff in the Academic Commission for the Physical Activity and Sports Science degree at the CEU Cardenal Herrera University.
Joint training and research
In addition, this alliance opens the door to the joint creation of professional, specialised titles in the field of sport, including those relating to the approved training of football coaches.
Research, another of the joint lines of work included in this new agreement, emphasises the areas of pediatric cardiology, high-performance sports cardiology, preventive physiotherapy and physiotherapy applied to rehabilitation in high-competition sport, addictions in professional sport, parasitic diseases as a condition of sports performance, as well as nutrition in high-performance athletes. A co-operative work between the CEU UCH researchers and the club’s medical team through the investigation laboratory LIAMCEU to prevent injuries through biomechanical knowledge.

The renewal of the agreement between Villarreal CF and the CEU Cardenal Herrear University also strengthens their shared commitment and values.
Both parties underline their wish to promote a training programme about the culture of effort and improvement, in terms of studies, work and general life, which will be given by students and professors from the CEU UCH to school students from Castellón at the Training Ground, centres of clubs associated to the Endavant programme and schools around the province of Castellón, as well as at the university itself.
The club will continue to support the numerous charity initiatives launched by the CEU UCH, by giving tickets to a number of games at the Estadio de la Cerámica to be sold by the university for a symbolic cost to raise funds for these projects.
