The Mini Submarine lost to Valencia Mestalla despite having a number of chances (0-1)

Villarreal B lost to Valencia Mestalla in an exciting derby between reserve sides, which was decided by a Pascu goal in the second minute (0-1). The Mini Submarine had clear goalscoring opportunities, especially in the second half, but were unable to find a way past the ‘che’ goalkeeper. The Yellows wanted a penalty for a challenge on Álex Millán, while Simón Moreno had to go off the pitch injured.

The only goal of the game came in the second minute. Pascu made the most of a rebound off Josele to score just inside the post. From there, Villarreal B dominated the match and did everything possible to equalise. Valencia Mestalla defended with military precision, trying to kill off the game with counter attacks.

In the 36th minute, there was controversy as Millán was pulled back when he was about to shoot. The referee decided it was not a penalty.

In the second half, there was a siege by the Yellows, with Álex Baena, Millán, Simón, Migue Leal, Edu Espiau and Dani Villa all having chances. Goalkeeper Cristian Rivero was Valencia’s hero.

Next up for Villarreal B will be an away game at La Nucía.
