The B team lose to Andorra, despite going ahead on the scoreboard through Lozano
Villarreal B lost against Andorra in a game where the Mini Submarine took the lead through Sergio Lozano, and hit the post on two separate occasions. The away team left with the three points thanks to goals from Héctor, Pau and Carlos Martínez. The match was affected by the heavy rain that fell on the Mini Estadi during the entirety of the second half.
The B team took the lead with a spectacular free-kick goal. Lozano’s right-footed effort went in off the post after bouncing on the floor. A magnificent effort that completely tricked Ratti (1-0m. 13).
The match was being played between two good sides. Both teams were fighting for possession of the ball, hoping to cause problems to their opponents.
In the 37th minute, Andorra drew level. Héctor’s powerful left-footed effort flew past Filip Jorgensen. Unstoppable.
The rain took centre stage in the second half. There was a spectacular amount of water that fell on the Mini Estadi, affecting the game. Villarreal B could have gone ahead early in the second half. Carlo Adriano went one-on-one with Ratti, but his left-footed effort hit the post. Unlucky.
Andorra did not let the Mini Submarine off. Pau made it 1-2 with a left-footed effort that went just inside Jorgensen’s post (m.56).
Not long after, Villarreal B hit the post again. This time it was Lozano who was denied by the woodwork. Real bad luck.
Andorra were convincing. They made it 1-3 through Carlos Martínez. The former Yellow controlled the ball in the box and scored coolly. A harsh punishment.
